Several
cruises depart every day, from the port of Tarifa looking
for cetaceans that inhabit or travel trough the Strait of
Gibraltar.
The
tours last for approximately two to two and a half hours.
While we are looking for the whales
and dolphins we
will sail along the wonderful landscapes of the strait, between
the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, and along the coasts
of two continents, so culturally different yet so physically
close: Europe and Africa. In these waters we will be able
to enjoy a fantastic day observing the whales and pods of
dolphins that cross the strait, as well as the numerous migratory
birds that come and go between both continents.
Our cetacean watching cruises enjoy
a 98% success rate and in the event that we do not see any
whales or dolphins, we invite our clients to join us on one
of our numerous other cruises.
Cetacean watching cruises are done on our ship, "Mitch",
which is 15 meters long and has been specially designed to
allow us to approach the cetaceans in a way as safe and environmentally
sound as possible.
